Prompt matrices now inherit
default_test.varsbefore rendering, so shared Promptfoo-style vars are available to top-level prompt templates andtests[].varsstill overrides by key. The same merge point also fixes direct interpolation suites that rely on shared vars defaults.The next eval authoring docs, eval-writer skill data, and feature examples now present top-level
promptsplustests[].vars/default_test.varsas the canonical Promptfoo-compatible shape. They also maketests[].inputandinput_filesexplicit AgentV direct-input conveniences that cannot be mixed with top-levelprompts.Validation
